Inova, a major DC-area healthcare system, has agreed to pay nearly $2.4 million to settle claims of submitting false information to Medicaid between January 2020 and August 2022.

The issue was self-reported by Inova after an internal investigation revealed improperly modified claims, resulting in $1.6 million in improper payments from Medicaid. The settlement includes restitution payments of $853,171 to Virginia and $732,649 to the federal government.
